There are group rides every Monday through Thursday from late March through late October. The
regular daily group rides are described further down the page. The evening rides start at 5:30 until mid-April then are at 6 PM through the summer. By mid Sept riders start arriving at the start early to finish before dark. If the weather is nice there are often last minute rides on the week-ends throughout the year. Check this page often for updated listings of all types of cycling events in and around our area. Rides require, at minimum, an appropriate bike in good working order, water, and a helmet. We suggest a spare tube, energy food, maybe a little cash in case we stop, and your committment to ride as a safe, sane member of the group. As many rides are subject to weather, it's a good idea to also confirm dates, time and any specific requirements. We'll see you out there having fun!
|Jun 23, 2018||Tour de Corn||East Praire Mo||Approximate rides of 15, 30, 65 or 100!! Terrain is flat. 100 mile ride is a great "starter" ride for anyone wanting to do their first Century ride. Well-marked rural highways. Portions of the Mississippi River Cycling Trail on all routes. Route maps will be available at the registration table. Rest/snack stops on all routes. Ride starts and ends in downtown East Prairie at the Family Life Center. Ample parking and rest rooms provided. SAG service provided. Helmets are required. This also includes children riding in bike seats and/or buggies. Cyclists must obey all traffic rules. This is a ride, not a race. Plan on riding at a rate appropriate to your training. Bathrooms with showers will be available at the Family Life Center. You must bring your own towel. Invited - any self sufficient rider who can average 15+ MPH in August temperatures and humidity. Ride across the commonwealth. And back. 108 miles total. The challenge for is to ride from Paducah to S. Fulton, TN. Eat your fill of "The Keg’s" barbecued ribs, guzzle a brew or two, then ride back. There's no entry fee, no tee-shirt, and no whining. The ride is supported by BikeWorld, which provides a well-marked route, rolling vehicle support and impromptu rest stops. Riders not doing the round trip by bike may want to meet a friend in Fulton for a ride home or drop a car off the day before. Helmets are required. Riding one way, or both? The Misalinged Minds is designed for each rider to succeed. The plentiful and well stocked rest areas, outstanding vehicle support driven by helpful, encouraging volunteers, homemade desserts, and outstanding attention to detail explain why this ride has been named by Bicycling magazine as one of the "Best one-day bicycle tours in the country." Meet & park behind the Walker Stone Building (old Higdon Discount Furniture) 4345 Cairo Rd. Paducah. From I-24: Take Exit 3. Turn East (toward Paducah). Go 1 mile to the building on the left. There is a choice for almost any rider who is on an adult sized bike. On the easiest ride, the leader rides with the slowest person and brings up the rear. |Every Tuesday during daylight saving time||6 PM||2 Rides. The BikeWorld Cruiser Ride & Info Park Road Training Rides. The Cruiser Ride begins and ends at BikeWorld. It's the most laid-back, social, fun of the week and a great opportunity to have company when you tool around town, a perfect learning opportunity for someone just getting into bicycling or anyone who wants conversation and sightseeing. Sometimes in summer this ride even involves an ice cream stop! The Cruiser Rides calls for lights. The Info Park Road Rides are 20 miles - 28 miles. Meet in the parking lot of the McCracken County Courthouse, 7th and Washington Street.
