About Us

BikeWorld is an established, award winning retailer, with a caring, well-trained staff. Our business is and from day one has been to serve the needs of the people in our area.  Working for community good is not a ruse to get people in the door, it is the way we live. Public service is our foremost core value. It is good for customers, staff and the bottom line of the business. Being a successful business allows us to enrich lives and spread happiness.

Since 1987 BikeWorld has founded, sponsored or strongly supported every major bicycle event, operation and facility in Western Kentucky. In an average year, BikeWorld will help local non-profits raise over $50,000.00 for good causes, while also donating products, labor and expertise to schools, playgrounds, charities and organizations, including free bicycle parking racks to businesses.

Martha is a graduate of Morehead State University with a degree in Communications, Speech and Drama.

Our Message To YOU

This truly complete bicycle store opened in 1987 by husband and wife, Hutch Smith and Martha Emmons. They and the enthusiastic BikeWorld team are the founders, or the benefactors, of nearly every bicycling activity in Western Kentucky. The crew includes Greg Page, Austin Hines, Jacob Holtgrewe in summer and during college breaks, Alex Kettler and Matthew Jones.

The most important part of the BikeWorld team is YOU, our customers. We're interested in you having fun and feeling good. We do repairs, provide information about area bicycling, act as a liaison to governmental bodies, assist the Chain Reaction Cycling Club and sponsor a wide range of events toprovide fun things to do by bike. We like riding bikes, we like people and we'd like you to come see us.
