            Sunday cycling event
            has long-term potential
  •           Martha Emmons is on to something.
  •             The BikeWorld owner persuaded the city to block off Broadway to motorized traffic  from 4th to 21st for five hours Sunday afternoon for Bikes on Broadway. The activity turned Paducah’s most popular thoroughfare into a 1.5 mile bicycle park
  •              But it’s obvious the streets and traffic engineering downtown were designed for automobiles.  Safety is a major factor cyclists: the inherent danger of sharing spaces with cars and trucks is the main deterrent to more people pedaling to work.
