About Us

BikeWorld is an established, award winning retailer, with a caring, well-trained staff.

In 2015 we helped local non-profits raise over $50,000.00 for good causes and have founded or sponsored every major bicycle event in Western Kentucky for over 25 years!

Austin Hines

Austin Hines

Like everyone at BikeWorld, Austin likes to ride bikes. In his case, he also lives and breathes bikes. He knows the models, the specs, the details, and he’s happy to share his knowledge. Just ask him. We do.

Andrew Granstaff

Andrew Granstaff

When Andrew’s not at BikeWorld, biking, or in a college class, he still has a few other activities to keep him busy. A talented musician, he plays in a band, volunteers in many church roles, works with kids and spends time with his large extended family.

Corbin Snardon

Corbin Snardon

Named one of the state's top teachers in 2015, Corbin serves at a group leader for our "Leadership By Bike" camp and occsionally pitches in on the sales floor during school breaks. Most days you'll find him in his Social Studies classroom at Paducah Midddle School.

Greg Page

Greg Page

In Greg’s own words, he is BikeWorld’s “ jack-of-all-bikes.” He is owns the record for riding his bike to work more than any other BikeWorld staffer. (Ever.) In 2015 he commuted by bike every day he worked! He’s a graduate of Middle Tennessee State, married, the father of two adorable daughters and our fantasy football fanatic.

Hutch Smith

According to Hutch, the only time during his entire childhood when he wasn't on his bike was when he was playing ball. Baseball, basketball and, he swears, football. One look at his build and you can see why he gave up the gridiron! Hutch is an authority on fitness & health, and you don't have to take our word for it. In addition to running track, cross country and every intramural sport Bradley University offered, he graduated with a teaching degree in health & physical education. Favorite kind of ride: Road.

 Jared Wynne

Jared Wynne

Starting his career at BikeWorld when he was 15, Jared worked summer breaks during his Beliot College years. He's back in town teaching science, coaching cross country and track at Paducah Middle School and helping out at BikeWorld in his rare bits of spare time.

Jacob Holtgrewe

Jacob Holtgrewe

Jacob is a rarity for this day and time, a teen who has been riding his bike as transportation for school and sports practices for years. As a result, he knows Paducah and its neigborhoods better than residents twice his age. Between track, soccer, academic team, speech and debate, student council, church and every other activity, the hardest part of Jacob's job is just finding time to work.

Landon Beans

Landon Beans

Landon Beans has been riding bikes as long as he can remember, and completed his first quarter century before his 9th birthday. He also hikes, camps, climbs, and kayaks. To say Landon likes new products is an understatement. Not only is he likable, he likes everything, including an assortment of grandma sweaters. He manages to work nearly full-time at BikeWorld, keep his college grades up and maintain an active social life. A true multi-tasker.

Martha Emmons

Martha Emmons

Martha believes bicycling can bring people together to improve bodies, minds and communities. She works with city and school leaders promoting safe places to ride because "neighborhoods where people can bicycle safely are places where people can live safely." Martha is a graduate of Morehead State University with a degree in Communications, Speech and Drama. She is the state chair of the Kentucky Bikeways and Bicycle Commission, and in her spare time coaches the Paducah Tilghman High School Speech and Forensics Team.

Z Davis

Z Davis

Z, short for Zirdrazieyal Davis, is our all-around guy. He’s a Trek trained bicycle tech, the first assistant in the fitness equipment department, a patient teacher for new riders and kids. When he’s not pedaling under his own power, cooking on his bike or in the kitchen, Z races motorcycles. Through all his activities, he remains the calm character whose quiet little remarks keep the rest of the crew laughing.

Alex KettlerMatt Jones

Alex Kettler and Matt Jones

are students at Paducah Tilghman High School. They work part-time and seasonally at BikeWorld. They've learned to master a variety of tasks while being trained in technical, communication and sales as they experience the bicycle industry firsthand.

Our Message To YOU

This truly complete bicycle store opened in 1987 by husband and wife, Hutch Smith and Martha Emmons. They and the enthusiastic BikeWorld team are the founders, or the benefactors, of nearly every bicycling activity in Western Kentucky. The crew includes Z Davis, Landon Beans, Greg Page, Austin Hines, Andrew Granstaff, Jacob Holtgrewe in summer and during college breaks, Alex Kettler, Matthew Jones and sometimes Corbin Snardon and Torey Earle.

The most important part of the BikeWorld team is YOU, our customers. We're interested in you having fun and feeling good. We do repairs, provide information about area bicycling, act as a liaison to governmental bodies, assist the Chain Reaction Cycling Club and sponsor a wide range of events toprovide fun things to do by bike. We like riding bikes, we like people and we'd like you to come see us.
